Description
CeraTex® 3140 Ceramic Fiber Square Braided Rope is made with high temperature ceramic fiber yarn reinforced with fiberglass filament carrier, square braid structure. The product is white and odorless, suitable for high temperature applications up to 2300°F.
Main Characteristics and Properties
Firm square braid structure for tight sealing applications, high density, enhanced tensile and abrasion-resisting strength. It is compressible and resilient; has characteristics of lightweight, low thermal conductivity, high temperature stability, low heat storage, thermal shock resistant, fire and flame proof, chemical resistant, compatible with most corrosive chemicals, commonly used acid and alkali (exceptions are hydrofluoric, phosphoric acids and concentrated alkalis).
**This product contains organic binder material (for weaving purposes only) which will burn at relatively lower temperatures and generate smoke. Product application properties are maintained during this normal de-organic heat-cleaning process. Product color will be restored back to white after organic binder combustion. Product should be heat treated first before use in a smoke-prohibitive environment.
